Financial & M&A Analyst
Leap29 is supporting a high-growth energy company based in Milan, backed by a leading international energy group. The role will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to support the evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities from an economic and financial perspective, contributing to investment strategy definition, financial sustainability assessments, and corporate growth initiatives.
The position sits within a lean, fast-moving team and offers hands-on exposure to investment and acquisition processes, from opportunity assessment through to investment decision-making and execution. The company operates a flexible working model, with typically one day per week in the Milan office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update financial models to support the evaluation of projects, investments, and business initiatives.
- Perform profitability, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to support strategic and investment decisions.
- Contribute to defining financial strategies and economic structures, including forecasting revenues, costs, and returns.
- Support M&A activities, including financial analysis of targets, valuation modeling, and assumption setting;
assist with preparationand review of transaction documentation and materials for internal decision-making. - Support origination and evaluation of potential acquisition and investment opportunities.
- Assist in setting up and managing internal financial processes, tools, and reporting frameworks for financial control and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to the development and structuring of finance-related functions such as planning & control, accounting, and financing activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in financial modeling, financial analysis, and investment or project evaluation.
- Understanding of capital-intensive investments and project finance principles.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a growing and evolving organization.
- Good command of English.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
