Financial Lines Munis & Legal Expenses Underwriter

This Underwriter role will be an ideal next step in your career if you already have some relevant experience in insurance or this could be your entry into underwriting if you have transferable skills.

How you will create an impact

• Underwrite new and renewal business to help drive profitable growth of Financial Lines Munis & Legal Expenses.
• Assess desirability of risk through regular contact with brokers, close coordination with AIG subject matter experts, robust reviews of claims history and general company information.
• Provide excellent service to brokers through a consistent timely and proactive approach.
• Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events and building relationships across the market in line with a sales plan established with your manager.
• Provide accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium and total premium.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Some underwriting experience preferred, but other relevant professional experience accepted.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and sales oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive and accountable.
