We are a growing international cosmetics manufacturing company focused on operational excellence, financial discipline, and long‑term sustainable growth. Due to our expansion in Crema, Italy we are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Financial Controller who will act as a key business partner to management while coordinating closely with our external accounting office.
Position Overview
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial management, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and controlling activities. While transactional accounting and statutory bookkeeping are managed by an external accounting office, this role will ensure accuracy, compliance, financial visibility, and strong business support for operational and strategic decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, KPIs, and financial performance indicators
- Monitor profitability, production costs, margins, and operational efficiency
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Develop and maintain cost controlling and inventory valuation processes
- Support pricing decisions and business case evaluations
Coordination with External Accounting Office
- Coordinate and supervise cooperation with the external accounting provider
- Review monthly accounting closes, VAT filings, payroll data, and statutory reports
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial information
- Act as the primary finance contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities
Cash Flow & Compliance
- Assist with cash management and update cash flow forecast
- Monitor receivables, payables, and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and financial regulations
- Improve internal controls and financial processes
Business Partnership
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
- Support operational teams with financial analysis and decision‑making
- Participate in process improvement and ERP/reporting optimization initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/controlling, preferably within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of management accounting, financial analysis, business and management principles
- Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively internally and externally
- Professional proficiency in Italian and English (must have)
Nice to Have
- Experience with production costing and inventory management
- Experience in international environments
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS
