Finance Manager

NABA is currently looking for motivated individuals for the role of Finance Manager. The selected candidate will join the Finance Department and will report directly to the Finance Director. They will manage and assure all accounting, tax and treasury processes, the maintenance of the statutory books in accordance with the Italian accounting standards, tax and legal requirements; support the internal and external controls (financial audits, etc.). The candidate will also actively support change management and innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Treasury and Cash Management

  • Guarantee payment management and related taxes (for example withholding taxes) respecting the scheduled deadlines.
  • Supervise daily booking of bank, cash and credit card transactions in accordance with the Italian accounting standards.
  • Prepare cash report requested by the head office.

Financial Statement

  • Contribute to the definition of the annual financial statements for NABA and Domus Academy in compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Assure the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements: GL account reconciliation, cost accruals, deferrals.
  • Prepare reclassification journal entries to ensure the correct analytical registration of the costs.
  • Coordinate activities with external consultants (auditors, tax advisors, labor consultants, lawyers).
  • Interface with intercompany accounting staff to prepare monthly intercompany journal entries.
  • Together with the controlling unit, on a monthly basis, analyze the significant differences present in the GL accounts.

Asset Management

  • Create asset records, proceed with capitalization, amortization, depreciation, revaluation, and disposals.
  • Reconcile between GL account and asset book.

Tax Activities

  • On a monthly basis prepare the F24 for withholding taxes payment, transmission of cross-border transactions via SdI (ex‑“esterometro”), INTRASTAT model, periodical VAT returns.
  • Interface with external consultants and prepare all documents requested for annual VAT declaration, quarterly VAT communication, IRES and IRAP declaration, and 770 model.
  • Supervise and control the accuracy of annual “CU” (only for independent workers) respecting the scheduled deadlines.

Employee Reimbursement Expenses

  • Supervise the correct employee expense reimbursement process according to the Travel Policy to be communicated to HR.

Accounts Payable

  • Supervise and coordinate team for all accounts payable processes including consultants and external faculty with focus on the control of the invoiced teacher hours by matching them with the contract and their attendance (online registers).
  • Collect supplier’s invoices with authorised PO, match PO data with invoices, book teachers’ invoices in NABAgest and code them in the accounting system (SAP).
  • Provide assistance to external faculty and consultants for finance aspects to be compliant with Italian fiscal/tax law and Finance guidelines.

People Leadership and Management

  • Drive team performance and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
  • Lead, coach and mentor team members; actively support change management and innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, the ethical code and procedures.
  • Approve holiday plans and leave requests and participate in the selection of resources.
  • Ensure that all documentation is correctly updated and archived on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with solid exposure to General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Treasury.
  • Proven experience in team coordination and people management.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian accounting principles and tax regulations (VAT, withholding taxes, F24, Intrastat, etc.).
  • Hands‑on experience in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and coordination with auditors and external consultants.
  • Good knowledge of asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, hands‑on and solution‑oriented approach.
  • Fluency in Italian and good command of English (written and spoken).
