We are looking to recruit a new member of staff in Trieste with 4 days/week in the office and with Friday as working from home:

Finance Director EMEA

PURPOSE:

Oversee the Accounts Payable, General Accounting and Payroll functions across multiple jurisdictions in the EMEA region. Oversee all financial reporting, tax and VAT related matters for our subsidiary entities across the EMEA region. Support with the compliance of local laws and regulations.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function across the EMEA region.
  • Oversee and support the general accounting team during the month-end close process, whilst focusing on those areas of higher risk and more complex in nature, across entities assigned.
  • Lead and manage the payroll process and coordinate with the payroll provider to deliver all payroll related tasks across entities assigned.
  • Oversee the statutory and other non-financial reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions within EMEA.
  • Support the board of directors in company secretarial matters.
  • Oversee all tax related matters, including corporation tax, withholding tax & value added tax (VAT) compliance.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws & regulations.
  • Adhere to and collaborate in the development of standard processes & practices and identify opportunities to streamline and drive continuous improvement initiatives, whilst documenting all local processes and procedures;
  • Build strong, effective relationships with all key stakeholders;
  • Perform other job-related functions and special projects, as required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or any equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience, including managing general accounting and payroll functions;

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of accounting practices, standards and regulations;
  • Technically strong, with significant financial reporting experience in Italy and across Europe;
  • Accounts payable management experience;
  • Corporation tax, withholding tax & VAT knowledge, experience & understanding;
  • Practical experience within a multi-national company of managing entities based in Italy & across Europe;
  • Exposure to other non-accounting responsibilities, such as local laws & regulations, preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Qualified Accountant, with an internationally recognised accountancy body
