Field Service Engineer – Switchgear

Experteer Overview

In this role you will deliver hands‑on installation, commissioning and service of LV switchgear across client sites within a defined region. You will work closely with project teams to ensure safe, compliant and timely delivery, from site setup to handover. The position combines field engineering with customer liaison, on‑call duties and travel. This is a hands‑on opportunity to support the growth of Vertiv’s switchgear service offering and drive reliable equipment performance.

• Assist in on‑site installation, commissioning, testing and handover of LV switchgear panels across multiple projects
• Support preventive maintenance tasks for LV switchgear
• Prepare tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities
• Coordinate with procurement for additional materials and snag list closures
• Complete site paperwork and upload documentation to client portals
• Ensure on‑site safety and adherence to HSE procedures
• Be prepared for varying levels of security clearance for customer sites
• Attend customer sites within a defined geographic area
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota
• Travel to and from customer sites as required
• Possibly stay away from home or travel long distances
• Operate as part of a team
• Wear company uniform on site

Responsabilità

• Minimum 3+ years in a site/client‑facing role
• Recognised qualification in a technical discipline
• Experience dealing with clients in a professional manner
• Familiar with electrical panel testing and fault finding
• Understanding of LV switchgear and protection devices
• Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety
• Experience maintaining test documentation
• Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests
• Excellent communicator
• Fully flexible to work additional hours on request
• Valid full driving license
