We are looking for an experienced
Field Sales Country Manager – Air & Ocean
with a strong commercial background in international freight forwarding and logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving Air & Ocean business development, strengthening the existing customer portfolio, acquiring new clients, and ensuring account profitability. The role requires close coordination with operational, financial, legal, and international network teams. Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Portfolio Management
Retain, strengthen, and develop the existing customer portfolio, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Acquire new customers through individual prospecting, networking, and business development activities. Promote new Air & Ocean services and commercial solutions. Define and implement the country commercial action plan. Prepare and present tailored commercial proposals aligned with customer requirements. Lead tender and RFQ responses in collaboration with Front Office Management, Middle Office, and supporting functions. Participate in sponsorships, events, and other business promotion initiatives. Customer and Operational Coordination
Establish Standard Operating Procedures based on customer expectations and agreed service requirements. Provide Customer Operations Support with all relevant commercial and operational information required to manage customer accounts effectively. Ensure that Middle Office teams fully understand and validate customer-specific procedures. Communicate all customer commitments clearly to the relevant operational teams. Exchange commercial and business information with the international network. Provide Finance with all information and documentation required for account-opening procedures. Financial, Contractual, and Profitability Management
Monitor the creditworthiness of customers and prospects in collaboration with Finance. Monitor outstanding payments and support debt-collection activities in compliance with applicable legislation. Review and manage customer account profitability together with senior management. Draft commercial contracts in accordance with applicable regulations, involving the Legal department when required. Assess risks, potential losses, and litigation matters in cooperation with Finance and Legal. Contribute to the annual budgeting process in consultation with the line manager. Reporting and Performance Management
Prepare regular reports on commercial activities, pipeline development, and business performance. Participate in internal coordination meetings and business reviews. Analyse individual and portfolio performance together with management. Share relevant strategic, commercial, financial, and operational information with internal stakeholders. Requirements
Proven commercial experience in freight forwarding, international transportation, or logistics. Strong knowledge of Air Freight and Ocean Freight products, markets, and operational processes. Experience in managing tenders, commercial negotiations, and customer contracts. Ability to analyse account profitability, margins, and financial risk. Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills. Results-driven and customer-focused approach. Ability to collaborate effectively with operational, financial, legal, and international teams. Fluency in English. What We Offer
