ThinkQuantum: Advancing Quantum Technologies in Cybersecurity and Communication
The company, based in Padua, Italy, specializes in cutting-edge cybersecurity and communication systems leveraging quantum technologies. We develop and manufacture Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems and Quantum Random Numbers Generation (QRNG) devices for various industries, including ICT and TLC, in both Ground and Space domains.
Our company is actively engaged in national and international projects, collaborating with organizations such as the European Space Agency and the European Commission. Our work contributes to enhancing information security on a global scale, addressing the growing challenges of data protection in an interconnected world.
We are seeking a talented FPGA Engineer to join our team in Padua. In this role, you will be involved in the technical development of advanced communication devices based on fiber and free-space technologies. You will support the system architecture design and development, participating in validation processes to meet performance and reliability requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation of cutting-edge quantum communication technologies.
The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-pace environment.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM (Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in FPGA design and development
• Strong proficiency in VHDL language
• Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g. Xilinx Vivado)
• Experience in simulation and verification (testbenches, functional verification)
• Ability to support FPGA bring-up, debugging, and validation on hardware
• Basic scripting skills for automation and testing (e.g. Python, TCL)
• Proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, LVDS, SERDES)
• Knowledge of signal processing or data-path architectures
• Familiarity with system-level integration and co-design (FPGA + software)
• Knowledge of fiber and free-space communication systems
• Exposure to quantum communication or advanced photonics systems
• Willingness to travel occasionally
