What We Do

This position includes a $500 sign-on bonus.

NORC partners with government, corporate, and nonprofit clients worldwide to conduct survey research that informs critical societal decisions.

Field Data Collectors Role

  • Play a key role in collecting data that drives our research.
  • Work a flexible, part-time schedule, typically 4-6 hours daily.
  • Manage and organize your own work schedule effectively.
  • Enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in field interviewing, sales, hospitality, marketing, finance, real estate, tax prep, teaching, or customer service is preferred.

Requirements for Employment

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Willing to work 15-25 hours weekly with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Willing to drive 50+ miles round trip for tasks.
  • Reside within 100 miles of the job location.
  • Attend all virtual and in-person training sessions.
  • Be able to travel for 3-day training sessions in Chicago, NYC, or LA.
  • Provide evidence of identity and work authorization in the U.S.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Salary and Benefits

  • Pay ranges from $19.00 to $28.41 per hour, based on experience and location.
  • Additional $50-$100 biweekly for the 2025 SCF project, contingent on training and performance.
  • Retirement contributions through TIAA at $4.93/hour worked.
  • Eligible for pre-tax or post-tax retirement contributions.
  • Reimbursements for training, mileage, and expenses.

Additional Details

This role involves working on the Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF), collecting data on American households’ financial assets and liabilities, primarily from March to June 2025, with potential extension through December 2025 after additional training.
