About the Role

We are looking for a Facilities Services Manager to support our market, with a primary focus on the Milan Roastery and the Milan Support Centre.

In this role, you will lead external contractor teams, ensuring the safety, compliance and efficiency of our facilities, while overseeing CAPEX and OPEX budgets. Leveraging cross‑functional collaboration and a strong supplier network, you will optimize investments and spending to enable Operations to deliver the Starbucks Experience while upholding brand standards. You model and act in alignment with Starbucks guiding principles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full facilities management budget (planned and reactive maintenance) for the Milan Roastery and Support Centre.
  • Proactively identify equipment replacement needs and coordinate work to minimise business disruption.
  • Lead and monitor the performance of external facilities contractors, conducting regular service reviews.
  • Ensure full HSE legal compliance across both sites.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to secure best-in-class suppliers.
  • Identify and establish profitable vendor partnerships.
  • Negotiate with external suppliers to secure advantageous commercial terms.
  • Approve and oversee purchasing of goods and services.
  • Finalise purchase details, including orders, deliveries and contractual terms.
  • Review and assess existing contracts for improvement opportunities.
  • Track KPIs, report functional metrics and identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity on specifications and business expectations.
  • Anticipate changes in supplier negotiation dynamics.
  • Manage risks associated with supply contracts and procurement agreements.
  • Control spend and promote a culture of long‑term cost optimisation.
  • Role‑model Starbucks Mission & Values and lead partners in alignment with our servant leadership model.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes and market dynamics.
  • Proven negotiation and networking skills.
  • Experience in budget management (CAPEX & OPEX).
  • University degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical/Mechanical specialisation advantageous).
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional and multicultural partnerships.
  • Strong commercial acumen and influencing skills at senior level.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong critical reasoning, communication and numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
    intermediate Excel required.
  • Strong facilitation capabilities.
  • Understanding of retail and food environments.
  • Experience in team management and team building.
