Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
In the Coscia Research Group within the Structural Biology Centre , we study the molecular mechanisms of thyroid function and disease, as well as thyroid hormone pathways, using integrative structural biology approaches across scales: from high resolution structures to organoids.
We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team and contribute to advancing research on the molecular interactors of thyroglobulin, the main thyroid hormone precursor. The intern will be involved in a project whose aim is to develop cryo-EM, biochemistry, biophysics and cellular methods to study the thyroglobulin interactors in health and disease.
Key tasks and activities:
- Cloning, Production of recombinant proteins, biophysical and cellular assays related to proteins of interest
- Structural characterisation, modelling and analysis of collected data
- Reporting to the group leader and write reports regularly, collaborating with the team
Essential requirements
- MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related subject
- Experience in structural biology and biophysics
- Experience of protein structure analysis
- Fluency in English - HT is an international research institute
Preferred requirements
- Prior learning experience with Linux
- Knowledge about cryo-EM pipelines
Organizational and social skills
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Rigour in reporting and analysing experimental data

Internship duration: 12 months
Reimbursement: 800€ gross per month
