Expert Mechanical Engineer – Milan

We are seeking an Expert Mechanical Engineer for the Milan site, to be involved in major projects in the field of sustainable mobility technologies. As an Expert Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in multidisciplinary innovation projects. You will report to Head of Technology for the organization of your job and your technical and professional growth and to Chief of Tech for the progress of your work on the different projects.

Main Areas Of Activities

Collect and document technical requirements and perform effort estimates

Modeling and validation of parts, components, assemblies and complete products in 3D CAD System based on requirements

Mechanical dimensioning and estimate mechanical performance of components

Scout and identify OTS components and tools and interact with external suppliers

Rapid prototyping supplier management and apply small mechanical adjustments to parts

Support in industrialization and transfer to manufacturing activities

Required Background And Technical Skills

Technical competencies

• Proven working and practical knowledge of mechanical dimensioning methods and techniques and how they apply and impact on a finished product features and performance;
• Good manual skills and knowledge of the main mechanical workshop tools;
• Good knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes of mechanical parts;
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing methods (TRIZ, QFD);

Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes of plastic parts (Injection Moulding, Termoforming, Blow Moulding, design of moulds, etc..) is a plus

Tools

• Very good knowledge of 3D CAD Software with full operational independence (Solidworks Premium and Solidworks Simulation is a strong plus);

Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Ability to work in a team, team building and lead, strong attitude to collaborative problem solving, self-learning abilities, passion for mechanical engineering and willing to deep dive into the discipline, obsession for detail

Available to business trips in Italy and abroad

Required Skills

Master degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent scientific or technical qualification

3 to 6 years of work experience in similar position or with similar duties in industrial manufacturing, R&D, mechanical design and engineering companies
