Responsibilities
- Provide strong strategic and operational leadership, and work with Council to implement our strategy, revitalise partnerships and position SPHERE for successful reaccreditation by 2027.
- Lead SPHERE at a critical stage in its evolution, ensuring that SPHERE meets the requirements outlined by the NHMRC as well as the priorities set by its partners.
- Collaborate with health system entities across NSW Health and engage with key stakeholders including government, funding bodies and community organisations.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Possess a relevant degree and ideally postgraduate qualifications. Qualifications and academic experience in the clinical or other relevant health sector are essential.
- Strong track record of building partnerships across sectors and the personal authority to engage academics, clinicians, the local health community, industry and national policy makers.
- Strong track record in health research translation in complex environments.
- Experience in strategic and operational leadership, including setting and executing strategy, people management, and management of finances and budgets.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and influence others at all levels, both within SPHERE and with external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with diverse groups and navigating complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
Employment details
- Employment Type: Part time 0.6 to 0.8 FTE, fixed term 3 years
- Remuneration: Level E
- Location: Sydney NSW or other sites as deemed necessary (Hybrid work arrangement available)
About SPHERE
Maridulu Budyari Gumal – the Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) is an NHMRC accredited Advanced Health Research Translation Centre (AHRTC). Hosted by UNSW in partnership with 4 health partners (SWSLHD, SESLHD, St Vincents Health Network, and SCHN) and 10 other organisations (Universities and MRIs). SPHERE is dedicated to advancing health outcomes and healthcare through research translation and capacity building.
