Based in our Vercelli facility, you will have the opportunity to shape one of Europe's most ambitious innovation projects, combining industry-leading technology, sustainable operations, and collaborative research.

As the European Innovation Hub Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team of engineers in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment that sits at the intersection of customer experience, sustainability, and technological advancement. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact across Amazon's global operations while championing solutions that benefit both our customers and the environment. You will have the opportunity to pioneer the development of a state-of-the-art innovation facility, creating an immersive experience for clients, partners, and stakeholders.

This position involves developing and implementing next-generation mechatronics and sustainable packaging solutions, collaborating with a highly skilled team, fostering innovation, and representing Amazon's technological capabilities externally. The lab serves as a crucial hub for testing, validation, and technological advancement that will influence how millions of customers receive their packages.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement the hub's strategic vision and business plan.
  2. Create and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
  3. Drive the development of innovative solutions and research programs.
  4. Manage the hub's budget, financials, and operational KPIs.
  5. Oversee facility operations, experience design, and lab activities including equipment maintenance, safety, and testing procedures.
  6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for lab processes and testing methodologies.
  7. Represent the lab's capabilities both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in innovation leadership and building or managing research facilities.
  • Strong business acumen, including budget management and strategic partnership development.
  • Technical proficiency in hardware prototyping, testing, and validation, with a strong understanding of mechanical/robotics systems.
  • Experience with CAD software and adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (+50%).
