Job Requirements

At CTS NEWCO, part of Baker Hughes, we are looking for an Estimating and Proposal Manager, who will be responsible for the preparation of complex proposals/bids. In this role, you will ensure contract finalization and compliance with company processes.

As Estimating and Proposal Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Ensuring a high level of quality of the assigned tasks in terms of quality documentation & processes.
  • Analyzing technical, commercial, and contractual tender documents for the correct definition of the scope of the work (SoW).
  • Ensuring compliance with commercial risk assessment and proposal preparation procedures.
  • Developing, proposing, and implementing successful bid strategies and technical solutions within time and budget.
  • Identifying resources, defining work strategies to ensure respect of the deadlines.
  • Developing the price structure, terms, and conditions of contracts.
  • Maintaining contact with the customer during the course of the bid.
  • Negotiating contracts, confidentiality agreements, and collaboration arrangements with the support of other business functions.
  • Filling in, analyzing, and assessing the correctness of the summary of service and material costs.
  • According to the guidelines, preparing and collecting the documentation for the hand-over to the project team.
  • Collaborating with the project team in the implementation phase to evaluate any change orders.

Work Experience

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) or a technical high school Diploma with several years of experience as Proposal Manager/Estimating Engineer.
  • Have professional experience and in-depth knowledge of EPC project estimation methodologies, work processes, and execution procedures.
  • Be familiar with the most widely used international codes and standards for design and construction in the oil & gas sector.
  • Have knowledge of the cost/price process and be familiar with contractual terminology.
  • Be fluent in English both orally and in writing.
  • Be a self-starter, able to lead a team during the preparation of the offer.
  • Be able to perform complex tasks typical of Engineering & Contracting companies.
  • Be able to work with tight deadlines and ensure clarity and quality of documentation and services.
  • Be able to present design problems clearly to senior reports, customers, and suppliers.
  • Be able to make decisions independently.
