We are looking for an Equipment & Facilities Manager to take technical and operational ownership of a startup cleanroom fab developing new photonic process concepts. This role is ideal for a highly hands‑on leader who enjoys building things from the ground up—setting up tools, defining ways of working, and keeping a small, fast‑moving fab running safely and reliably as processes evolve.
What will you be doing?
- Act as the technical owner for cleanroom equipment and facilities in an R&D-scale fab
- Work hands‑on with tools, including setup, troubleshooting, recovery, and day‑to‑day operation
- Lead and support a small team of technicians and engineers, including training and knowledge transfer
- Coordinate equipment installation, qualification, modification, and relocation
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance strategies suited to a startup environment
- Own EHS compliance, equipment certification, and safe operating procedures
- Perform risk assessments and support FMEA for new equipment & processes
- Manage spare parts, consumables, suppliers, and external service providers
- Build & maintain documentation: maintenance records, SOPs, and equipment histories
- Support planning, scheduling, uptime targets, and continuous improvement
What we need to see?
- Degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Proven experience in a semiconductor, photonics, or cleanroom manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of CMOS process flow and fab operations
- Strong hands‑on troubleshooting skills with a practical, problem‑solving mindset
- Experience coordinating teams, suppliers, and external service providers
- Familiarity with risk analysis and FMEA methodologies
- Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and vendor‑facing interfaces
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in spoken and written English
