Our Client, a major international Group operating in the construction of industrial plants and infrastructure, for a high-profile project with significant environmental impact and regional as well as national relevance.

Offerta

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure adherence to environmental rules, best practices and standards throughout all phases of the project lifecycle into plant operations.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive Environment policies, programs, and management systems tailored to the specific environmental hazards of steel production.
  • Lead Environmental certification processes and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and standards, as well as applicable industry-specific regulations; conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments for equipment, facilities, and operational processes.
  • Supervise the waste management process (mapping, building inventory, EER/CER lists).
  • Design and implement recycling strategies for both project phase and operational one (slags valorisation routes, acid regeneration, rolling oils/emulsions recovering etc.).
  • Qualify and audit transporters/intermediaries/receivers via the Albo Nazionale Gestori Ambientali.
  • Prepare environmental reporting for the HSE Director and regularly discuss with them key risks, incidents, and mitigation strategies.

Competenze ed esperienza

Education/competencies:

  • 5+ years in Environmental roles (preferably manufacturing/heavy industry and high-risk environments).
  • Preferably in heavy industry steel, cement, manufacturing, oil/gas, or chemicals, with at least part of that experience in an international context.
  • Engineering/Environmental background, expertise in environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Solid experience in managing complex environmental requirements, including waste management, recycling, and sustainable construction practices.
  • Knowledge of standards ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of the Italian law on Environment (152/2006).
  • Proven track record in risk assessments, audits, regulatory compliance, and incident investigation.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong communication skills for reporting to C‑suite.
