Environmental Engineer

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting an experienced Environmental Engineer to support PV and BESS projects across Italy.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our developments comply with environmental regulations and adhere to best practices in sustainability. You will carry out environmental assessments, prepare permitting documentation, and collaborate with authorities and external specialists to facilitate smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive environmental studies for large-scale PV and BESS installations.
• Evaluate ecological impacts, including analyses of flora, fauna, soil, and water resources.
• Prepare environmental approval documentation in line with Italian legislation (e.g., Environmental Impact Assessments).
• Engage and coordinate with local authorities, environmental agencies, and external consultants.
• Support the engineering team in site selection, route planning, and land-use assessments.
• Compile and present technical reports and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to due diligence processes, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Geography, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience conducting environmental studies and managing permitting processes for renewable energy projects in Italy.
• Familiarity with GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS) is a plus.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured documentation.
• Excellent command of Italian (C1 level); proficiency in English is desirable.
