Environmental & Permitting Specialist — Renewable Energy

A dynamic and well-funded renewable energy company based in Milan is seeking an experienced Environmental & Permitting Specialist to join its growing team. With a strong commitment to the Italian market and a pipeline of large-scale projects, the company is delivering innovative solutions across Solar PV , Agri-PV , Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) , and is preparing to expand into wind energy .

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive permitting and environmental approval processes for large-scale renewable energy projects
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, consultants, and other key stakeholders
- Oversee the preparation of environmental impact assessments and permitting documentation
- Perform GIS-based site analysis and support spatial planning for new project development
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure project compliance with current legislation
- Collaborate closely with internal development, engineering, and legal teams to support project delivery
- Contribute to the development of emerging opportunities, including wind projects
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting within the renewable energy sector
- Solid knowledge of Italian permitting regulations and procedures for energy infrastructure
- Proficient in GIS tools and spatial analysis (essential)
- Proven track record working on utility-scale PV and/or BESS projects; Agri-PV experience is advantageous
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Fluent Italian and professional-level English
