PRIMARY FUNCTION
The selected candidate will support both corporate and site-level activities focused on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies, as well as the achievement of environmental targets. The role offers exposure to a global industrial environment and direct involvement in sustainability-related projects.
In this role, reporting to the Energy & Environment Manager, the candidate will be involved in the following main activities:
- Supporting the organization in the definition of the Environmental strategy and implementation of improvement plans, projects, initiatives and good practices aimed at ensuring:
- continuous improvement of the Company’s environmental performance
- achievement of the Company’s sustainability targets
- compliance with Company standards and policies, as well as applicable legal and permit requirements
- Supporting the organization in the definition of environmental projects (aligned with the defined environmental strategy) to be included in the Company budget, and monitoring their progress
- Supporting the preparation of environmental initiatives to be submitted for approval to the Investment Committee, and contributing to their implementation
- Performing internal audits and assessments to verify the correct implementation of the Company’s environmental management system, the application of continuous improvement principles, and the status of environmental impact reduction projects
- Providing guidance and support in the monitoring of environmental performance and in the definition of recovery plans where needed
- Providing guidance and support in the management of day-to-day environmental activities and related issues
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Energy & Environment central department and the manufacturing plants on managing the Environment aspects and impacts, in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, specific permits (and related prescriptions) and corporate requirements.
- Support the plants in identifying and solving potential environmental risks by proposing corrective and improvement actions.
- Develop and monitor improvement activities, projects and new initiatives to achieve the Company targets and the compliance assurance, both for technical and for sustainability aspects.
- Collaborate in issuing Environment policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, best practices and methodologies, and support to the Company sites on their correct and proper implementation.
- Review / support on Environmental monitoring campaign reports (external noise, air emissions, wastewater discharge, ...).
- Support in case of external visits / joint meetings / Due Diligences, new/renewal of permits and authorizations as well as litigations and remediation activities.
- Support the Energy & Environment central department in maintaining the ISO14001 standard documentation updated, in line with the regulatory evolution and the Company policies and standards.
- Support the plants in the implementation of the ISO14001 management system.
- Perform internal audit and site visits, in order to verify the compliance with the ISO14001 standard and with the Company policies.
- Collaboration in developing stakeholder’s awareness initiatives, training and information campaigns on Environmental topics.
- Support for all activities related to the WW Annual Report:
- setting organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and overseeing their delivery
- collection, check and selection of the Sustainability initiatives and projects
- draw up of the Environment text for the final Annual Report
- support the Energy & Environment central department and the Company plants during Sustainability audit carried out by third party body
REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred: degree in Environmental Engineering. Other technical qualifications in environmental disciplines are also acceptable.
- 10+ years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of Environment regulations (national and EU) on emissions (air, VOC, water), waste and related compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental issues, best practices, environmental aspects and impacts evaluation, the main industrial processes in the automotive sector and related solutions for reducing environmental impact.
- Knowledge of the ISO 14001 standard.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office use, with spreadsheet and BI tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to build queries, collect data, analyze datasets, evaluate trends and deliver clear charts/dashboards and written summaries/reports.
- English written and spoken is fundamental
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure; both autonomously and in a team.
SALARY INFORMATION
- Applied Contract: CCSL Contratto Collettivo Specifico di Lavoro Iveco Group
- Grade: 2 Gruppo Professionale
- Salary range: Euro 43000 – 57000
- Variable payment as per CCSL
