We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise AI Transformation Director to join Norgine.
Role Purpose
The Enterprise AI Transformation Director is accountable for defining, governing, and accelerating Norgine’s enterprise AI agenda and for embedding AI-enabled ways of working across the organisation.
The role aligns strategy with disciplined execution, ensuring that AI delivers measurable value, is scaled responsibly, and is underpinned by strong data, technology, operating model and change management foundations.
Scope
Enterprise remit across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, HR, Legal and Corporate functions.
End-to-end accountability from portfolio shaping and prioritisation to adoption and value realisation.
Executive ownership of the enterprise AI operating model, governance and risk controls, working closely with IT, Data and Compliance.
Accountabilities & Outcomes (first 12–18 months)
Agree and publish the enterprise AI & Tide Shift roadmap with clear guardrails, investment profile and success measures.
Stand up the AI Acceleration Board and AI Action Office; implement portfolio and risk governance with defined decision rights.
Prioritised, funded portfolio of top 10–15 AI use cases with tracked business value, time-to-value, and adoption KPIs.
Foundational enablers in place: data products on the NDP platform, secure and scalable AI toolchain, model monitoring and lifecycle controls.
Company-wide AI literacy programme launched; targeted reskilling and role clarity for critical personas (product owners, SMEs, engineers).
Legacy workload rationalisation plan executed to free capacity and remove duplicative processes as new AI solutions are embedded.

Strategy & Roadmap
Define the enterprise AI strategy and Tide Shift roadmap aligned to corporate objectives and value pools.
Balance near-term productivity improvements with longer-term platform and operating model maturity.
Set outcome-based KPIs and OKRs linked to value realisation, adoption, quality and risk posture.
Portfolio & Prioritisation
Run a structured portfolio process to source, assess and prioritise use cases by value and feasibility (financial impact, CX/EX, speed to value, synergies, data/tech readiness, sponsorship, ease of adoption).
Move initiatives from experimentation to scaled, embedded capabilities with clear stage gates and exit criteria.
Ensure benefits tracking, baselining and post-implementation value audits.
Operating Model & Governance
Design and run the AI operating model (central standards with federated delivery); clarify roles across Business, Data, Engineering, Risk and Product.
Establish the AI Acceleration Board to approve priorities, allocate capacity/funding, and enforce Responsible AI guardrails.
Define decision rights and engagement model between the AI Action Office, domain product teams and enabling functions.
Data & Technology Foundation
Partner with IT and Data to modernise the NDP architecture and AI toolchain for scalability, security and cost-efficiency.
Champion reusable, curated data products with clear ownership, quality, lineage and interoperability.
Reduce reliance on legacy applications that hinder adoption; drive a clear modernisation and separation roadmap where required.
Value Realisation & Adoption
Orchestrate cross-functional deployment plans with change, communications, training and performance support embedded.
Ensure removal of obsolete work as new solutions go live; protect time for adoption and frontline enablement.
Scale successes through playbooks, reusable components and shared services.
Risk, Compliance & Responsible AI
Own enterprise AI governance aligned to EU AI Act, GDPR, GxP and pharma standards.
Implement model lifecycle controls (data governance, validation, monitoring, incident response, auditability and documentation).
Chair risk reviews with Legal, Compliance, Information Security and Quality; ensure external transparency and supplier compliance.
Talent & Capability
Develop a digital talent strategy across central and domain teams; define critical roles and career pathways.
Launch an AI literacy and leadership curriculum; coach ELT and senior leaders on value, risk and adoption levers.
Shape the external partner ecosystem; balance build vs. buy and flexible sourcing models.
Stakeholder Management & Communications
Act as executive advisor to the COO and ELT; provide regular updates on maturity, risks and value.
Represent Norgine externally on AI and transformation where appropriate; build credibility with regulators and industry bodies.
Interfaces & Decision Rights
Chairs: AI Acceleration Board. Accountable for portfolio investment recommendations and guardrails.
Partners with: CIO/CTO, Chief Data Officer (or equivalent), Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, HR, Finance and domain VPs.
Decision rights: Prioritisation within the AI portfolio, standards and guardrails, stage-gate approvals to scale, and decommissioning of legacy processes conflicting with new solutions.
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong experience in digital transformation/AI leadership, with proven scaling of AI in regulated environments.
- Track record establishing operating models, portfolio governance, and value realisation at enterprise scale.
- Deep understanding of data platforms, MLOps, and cloud ecosystems (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Demonstrated ability to navigate EU AI Act, GDPR and GxP implications with Legal/Compliance partners.
- Executive presence; able to influence at ELT/Board level and to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix.
Preferred
- Experience in pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical or business field.
- Prior ownership of AI risk/governance frameworks and audit processes.
