Overview

The MDC Manager of project engineering will be responsible to lead Project Engineering Managers at global level. This entails a demonstration of strong leadership on project execution. The candidate will lead the team and enable coordination, execution and communication across multiple engineering product lines within the single project. They will be responsible to develop an industry leading Project Engineering organization focused on delivering projects on time while driving engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for detailed engineering integrated planning and project resource allocation starting from the tender project plan to detailed execution engineering plan
  • Accountable for timely deliverable of customer documentation and alignment to internal integrated planning
  • Responsible to drive a robust tender to execute process
  • To drive collaboration across the MDC execution functions and locations, and strong collaboration across the MDC/SPS Engineering teams.

  • Demonstrating accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Delivering improved safety, quality, reduced cost and cycle through product structuring and optimized processes and tools.
  • Contributing to the overall strategy for the business and MDC/SPS Engineering organization and manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise
  • Driving safety, quality, delivery and cost culture within Subsea Distribution Engineering and the broader organization
  • Effectively communicating with the customers (Product Management, P/L leaders, Project teams) to assure quality products are delivered.
  • Lead projects scheduled reviews that track progress through KPIs and spending/productivity by team
  • Monitor, explain and resolve any resource allocation issue working closely with the GMDC Engineering Managers.
  • Drive on‑time delivery and engineering productivity through regular meetings and detailed team engagement
  • Establish cost analysis based on tasks and milestones. Track and trend all MDC engineering spending as required and necessary.
  • Escalate issues if needed into systems or the product team leadership to resolve.
  • Partner with systems engineering to identify and resolve any changes in specifications or product requirements.
  • Master’s or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with previous experience in process improvements, engineering and/or project management).
  • Previous experience in positions as testing, project engineering, system engineering, project management or process improvements.

  • The position will require significant experience from the Oil & Gas industry combined with experience from other relevant industries.
  • Experience in leading multi‑disciplined and remote engineering teams
  • Good technical background with a good knowledge of subsea products and projects
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • A demonstrated ability to drive change and a global mindset
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge about project management methods and tools
