About this Position

Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure so that data centers can meet any situation. The Engineering Operations Technician II (EOT) works with teams to test and implement new technology, driving innovation while reducing operational costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
- Drive projects with moderate complexity.
- Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
- Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
- Responsible for on‑site management of contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
- Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, writing procedures, and building management systems.
- Work schedule changes depending on site needs. Shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule; some locations have on‑call rotations.
- Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment, ensuring 99.999% uptime of the world’s largest cloud computing portfolio.
- Role may support more than one location/site.
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain, maintain balance, and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
- Lift and/or move up to 39 pounds unassisted and participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
- Perform daily tasks requiring walking, using hands, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs, twisting, bending, working above shoulders, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in relevant work.
- Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
- Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
- Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain.
- Can work at heights and from ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
- Experience in data center engineering.
- Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
