The Opportunity The Engineering Manager role is one of the most significant and challenging positions, requiring strong leadership, people development skills, and hands‑on engineering expertise. You will lead one or more engineering teams in a fast‑paced, CI/CD driven environment.
In This Role, You’ll Get to:
Be hands‑on by writing and reviewing code while coaching and guiding engineers.
Cultivate a passion for elegant, scalable engineering and influence system architecture decisions.
Lead full‑stack development, including infrastructure, client side, back‑end, performance, and data.
Develop people by attracting top talent, integrating them into the team, and fostering growth.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Extremely proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C#).
Strong experience in systems architecture, particularly for complex, scalable, fault‑tolerant distributed systems.
Demonstrable experience as a system owner with operational responsibility.
Proficiency with low‑level engineering concepts such as garbage collection, context switching, and threading.
DevOps culture: agility, leanness, automation, CI/CD.
Good understanding of application security.
Passion for technology and the Internet.
Experience in a successful agile development team.
Experience running engineering teams with at least 5 direct reports.
Autonomous decision‑making, KPI setting, and strong ownership.
Data‑driven decision‑making practices.
It’s Great If You Have
Proficiency in more than one programming language.
Location: Bangkok (relocation provided) and Rome, Italy.
