Job Description
We have an opening for a highly motivated Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join our Team at IRBM. As a Head of Unit, the role reports directly to the CEO. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting and actively contributing to the team’s growth.
Collaborating closely with various teams, the incumbent will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency of key equipment, while adhering to organizational objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate Engineering, Maintenance (electrical, mechanical, utilities, automation, scientific equipment);
- Coordinate CAPEX plan, multiyear Site program for investments (infrastructure and scientific equipment), and budget preparation;
- Coordinate overall plan and projects for expansion, remodeling, and upgrade of facilities, utilities and laboratories, including production equipment;
- Supervise and manage all contracts related to maintenance (electrical, mechanical, utilities, automation, scientific equipment) and facilities management (fire prevention, elevators, pest control);
- Supervise and coordinate operations and maintenance activities related to the maintenance of facilities, utilities, electrical systems and BAS (building automation systems);
- Responsible for authorization and permitting (building, fire prevention, energy production, PED equipment);
- Supervise qualification plan for GMP systems and equipment, including CSV;
- Coordinate Site Energy Program and ISO 50001:2018 certification;
- Support EH&S programs and initiatives, assure compliance to all technical regulations, and guarantee the application of EHS policies and directives related to project construction and maintenance activities;
- Guarantee Site business continuity;
- Work in close contact with Purchasing and Finance Offices for purchase orders and invoice management as well as for budget control;
- Technical support for Third Party (GMP and non-GMP) and Customer audits.
- Drive and sustain a culture of continuous improvement
- Facilitate and directly participate in the technical and professional development of assigned personnel
Competencies and skills:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing large projects, managing efficiency and effectiveness of assets and team
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage emergencies and streamline multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Experience in project management, engineering, maintenance (electrical, mechanical, utilities, automation), facilities and energy management.
- Experience in qualification and calibration for chemical and pharmaceutical plants, and in Computer System Validation;
- Know-how in mechanical, HVAC, utilities, piping and process engineering, electrical engineering and automation system (BMS);
- Maintenance and Qualification for GMP and non-GMP equipment and systems;
- Proactive approach and team building spirit, can work cooperatively across the organization
- Results-driven personality with high level of enthusiasm, energy, and confidence;
- Ability to build effective teams and set common objectives,
- Detail-oriented with the ability to catch minor errors which can result in major problems;
- Routine use of Windows Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) and AutoCAD software;
- Knowledge of CMMS (Microsoft Navision Dynamics) would be a plus
- Fluent in English (technical and business), both written and spoken
- Problem solving and ability to work under pressure.
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
Qualifications and requirements
- MS Degree in an engineering or technical area with at least 10 years of relevant experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role (previous experience in the Pharma sector would be a plus);
- Relevant training and/or certifications, PMP would be a plus;
