About the role
We are looking for a talented and driven Energy Market Analyst to join our growing team across our Italian and United States operations. In this role, you will support strategic decision-making by analyzing energy markets, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights across renewables sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse electricity and renewable energy markets in Italy (IPEX/GME) and the United States (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO, SPP, NYISO).
- Develop and maintain quantitative models for price forecasting, supply-demand analysis, and market risk assessment.
- Produce weekly and monthly market reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Track regulatory developments (ARERA in Italy; FERC/state PUCs in the US) and assess their commercial impact.
- Collaborate with trading, risk, and commercial teams to provide timely market intelligence.
- Identify arbitrage opportunities and support portfolio optimization strategies.
- Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in energy markets, commodity trading, or a similar analytical role.
- Solid understanding of European and/or North American market structures.
- Proficiency in Python (mandatory) for data analysis, automation, and modelling; R and advanced Excel are a plus.
- Familiarity with energy market platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Platts, ENTSO‑E, EIA).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Italian is a plus for the Italian market.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
