Energy Market Analyst (Italy & USA)

As a European company specialized in the development, engineering, and procurement of medium‑and large‑scale renewable energy projects worldwide, our expertise spans photovoltaic (PV), hydrogen (H₂), and battery energy storage system (BESS) sectors. Today, we manage a 2 GW portfolio across Italy, Spain, and the United States with a proven track record of delivering more than 1 GW of clean energy projects.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and driven Energy Market Analyst to join our growing team across our Italian and United States operations. In this role, you will support strategic decision‑making by analyzing energy markets, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights across renewables sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse electricity and renewable energy markets in Italy (IPEX/GME) and the United States (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO, SPP, NYISO).
• Develop and maintain quantitative models for price forecasting, supply‑demand analysis, and market risk assessment.
• Produce weekly and monthly market reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Track regulatory developments (ARERA in Italy; FERC/state PUCs in the US) and assess their commercial impact.
• Collaborate with trading, risk, and commercial teams to provide timely market intelligence.
• Identify arbitrage opportunities and support portfolio optimization strategies.
• Present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in energy markets, commodity trading, or a similar analytical role.
• Solid understanding of European and/or North American market structures.
• Proficiency in Python (mandatory) for data analysis, automation, and modelling; R and advanced Excel are a plus.
• Familiarity with energy market platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Platts, ENTSO‑E, EIA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Italian is a plus for the Italian market.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
