ROS Embedded Systems Engineer – Robotics & Industrial Automation
Robotics | ROS2 | Embedded C/C++ | Real-Time Systems
We’re hiring an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer on behalf of our client to join a robotics and industrial automation project based in Turin, Italy . The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), strong real-time systems experience, and a background in developing embedded software for robotic platforms.
What You’ll Do
• Design, develop, and optimize ROS-based embedded applications for real-time robotics systems
• Implement and maintain modules for motion planning , localization , mapping , and perception
• Ensure seamless firmware–hardware integration in collaboration with electrical and mechanical teams
• Work with communication protocols such as CAN , Ethernet , UART , and DDS
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated test strategies for ROS1/ROS2 deployments
• Debug and optimize embedded software performance in Linux-based environments (Yocto or Debian)
• Interface with sensor systems (e.g., LiDAR , IMUs , cameras ) and actuator control logic
Your Background
• 3+ years of experience in Embedded C/C++ development
• Strong expertise in ROS2 , including node architecture and custom package development
• Solid understanding of real-time operating systems and Linux device drivers
• Experience working with robotic platforms , sensor fusion, and hardware abstraction layers
• Proficiency with Git , CMake , and code documentation tools
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson , STM32 , or other custom embedded boards
• Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo , RViz , or Webots
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in embedded systems
