Software Engineer – Automotive Embedded Systems
Working Model: Hybrid (up to 10 remote working days per month)
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a leading automotive engineering team in Turin, supporting the design, development, integration, and validation of software for Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and vehicle systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive technologies, developing embedded software solutions in compliance with industry standards including ASPICE, ISO 26262, and AUTOSAR.
You will collaborate closely with system, hardware, and validation engineers to deliver robust, safety-critical software for next-generation vehicle platforms.
Analyse system requirements and translate them into detailed software requirements and design specifications.
Elicit, document, and allocate software requirements.
Software Architecture & Development
Develop software architectures and component-level designs for embedded automotive systems.
Define software interfaces and integration strategies.
Analyse and implement software change requests.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and architecture assessments.
Validation & Testing
Define software test specifications and select appropriate test cases.
Develop and execute unit tests for embedded software components.
Produce test reports and ensure compliance with coding standards and coverage requirements.
Perform interface and integration testing for software modules, ECUs, AUTOSAR components, and middleware.
Validate communication between software components and vehicle systems.
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis during software integration and validation phases.
Product design and development within the automotive sector.
Strong understanding of embedded systems and real-time software design.
AUTOSAR architecture and configuration
Configuration and change management tools
Test design, execution, and defect management tools
Embedded C/C++
Python scripting for automation
Familiarity with AUTOSAR configuration tools
Automotive Ethernet
Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive software development, including design and validation activities.
Experience with ECU architectures and automotive communication protocols.
Strong requirements analysis and traceability experience.
Languages
~ Fluent English required.
International or multicultural project experience.
Additional automotive software certifications.
