Brightsmith is supporting a Rome-based, private-equity-backed renewable energy platform focused exclusively on utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across Italy.

Backed by a major global infrastructure investor with over €300m in committed funding, the company has scaled rapidly from 4 to 45 employees in just over a year. With more than 1 GW of approved projects in its pipeline and continued aggressive hiring plans, the platform is entering its next phase of structured growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage preliminary and detailed electrical design of utility-scale PV and BESS plants

• Define plant layouts, perform electrical sizing and design MV/HV grid connections

• Prepare technical and administrative documentation for grid connection solutions

• Evaluate grid configurations including self-consumption and private grids (SSPC)

• Produce technical specifications and tender documentation in line with authorised design

• Review documentation prepared by external consultants and EPC contractors

• Support Procurement in the technical evaluation and selection of key components (modules, inverters, transformers, etc.)

• Support Development during feasibility stages including yield and grid analysis

• Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and technical reports

Who We Are Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum three years of experience in electrical engineering within utility-scale renewables

• Proven experience with MV and/or HV grid connection design in Italy

• Familiarity with Italian technical standards (CEI, IEC, UNI)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PV design software (PVsyst, PV CASE or similar) and electrical CAD tools

• Experience preparing grid documentation and technical tender specifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Effective communication skills and team-oriented mindset

• Fluent in Italian with good command of English
