Overview
As Electrical Design Engineer at Vertiv, you will develop and maintain electrical designs for CW CRAH units, Thermal Wall applications and chiller platforms. You’ll work across R&D and cross-functional teams to balance cost, quality and safety while delivering compliant, manufacturable electrical solutions. You enable scalable, field-ready designs for data center cooling and industrial applications, contributing to NPDI and engineering change processes. This role offers hands‑on impact in a global, collaborative setting with exposure to standards‑driven design and cross‑regional collaboration. Benefits
Develop electrical designs for CW CRAH, Thermal Wall and chiller products, sizing and selecting main electrical components and wiring solutions Create and maintain schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs and manufacturing drawings Design electrical architectures balancing cost, quality, reliability, safety, and project timing Support electrical panel design including placement, heat dissipation, cable management, grounding and labeling Define control wiring interfaces in collaboration with Controls Engineering Provide shop‑floor documentation and design‑for‑manufacturing feedback to Manufacturing Engineering Coordinate with suppliers and cross‑regional teams on components, standards and cost reduction Support electrical compliance activities (CE, LVD, EMC, RoHS, UL/CSA as applicable) and ETO‑C projects Promote ECAD, PLM processes, standard templates and best practices across CW products Responsibilities
Technical diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Automation, Mechatronics or related At least 3 years in electrical design for HVAC, data center equipment or similar Strong knowledge of electrical CAD, schematics, panel layouts and BOM management Experience with low‑voltage design, protection, grounding, wiring and control wiring interfaces Familiarity with CE, EMC, LVD, EN 60204‑1, UL/CSA standards Ability to translate cross‑functional requirements into electrical solutions Experience supporting production, suppliers, cost reduction and change orders English: intermediate and willingness to travel between Italy and production sites
