Experteer Overview

In this role you will lead ABB's global ABAC, trade compliance and human rights safeguards, aligning policies with international regulations. You will work within Integrity and Legal teams to design compliance programs, oversee risk assessments, and guide cross-border operations. You will drive governance, training, and communications to ensure ethical, compliant business across jurisdictions. This position offers broad impact across business lines and a chance to shape ABB's integrity framework on a global scale.

• Design and govern global compliance programs for export controls, sanctions, ABAC and HuRi in collaboration with the BA Trade Manager
• Provide general and transaction-specific compliance guidance to Legal & Integrity colleagues and business managers
• Establish and monitor guidelines for export license submissions and official government filings
• Conduct risk assessments and deliver leadership insights on geopolitical and sanctions exposure
• Oversee the Monitoring dashboard and coordinate with divisional focal points on monitoring activities
• Lead country-specific task forces for compliance in sanctioned sectors or countries
• Coordinate government relations and due diligence; serve as BA focal point for military/defense sector compliance
• Investigate or supervise investigations of Trade, ABAC or HuRi violations; implement remediation actions
• Design and implement a division-specific compliance training program, including in-person and online formats
• Develop and implement a BA-wide communications program on Trade, ABAC and HuRi with policy updates and alerts
• Promote and oversee compliance tools (e.g., SAP Global Trade Services) and evaluate new technologies

Responsabilità

• Qualified lawyer with a Master’s degree in Law or equivalent
• 10+ years in Trade and ABAC compliance, with senior-level decision-making experience
• Proven people leadership experience managing and developing compliance professionals
• Deep knowledge of export control, sanctions, customs and related regulatory processes
• Strong understanding of international trade, ABAC/HuRi frameworks, and relevant laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
• Experience in handling government regulatory processes and compliance best practicesKnowledge of the international marketplace and sustainability/compliance programs
• Familiarity with ABB-related commercial issues and product offerings in global trade
