EIB Trainee - Secretariat General - Institutional Representation Division and Operations Directorate - Corporates Division (Paris, France)
Apply for the EIB Trainee role in the Secretariat General, Institutional Representation Division, Operations Directorate – Corporates Division – based at the EIB Local office in Paris, France.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks a trainee to support the Paris office in institutional relations, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Duration
5 months, fixed start date 1st March 2026.
Eligibility
Applications only from nationals of EU Member States or candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine). Erasmus+ stays overlapping the traineeship will not be considered.
Objectives
- Support daily activities of the Paris office in institutional relations, communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to organisation and follow‑up of events, meetings and missions involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with preparation of briefings, background research and internal reporting.
- Gain first‑hand experience of operations of an EU institution in France.
Responsibilities – Paris Office
- Prepare and coordinate meetings, conferences and visits involving EIB representatives and French stakeholders.
- Conduct research and prepare briefing notes on political, economic and sectorial developments relevant to EIB activities in France.
- Support communication activities, including event logistics, drafting summaries and updating contact databases.
- Monitor public affairs and media coverage relevant to EIB in France.
- Coordinate with EIB departments and external stakeholders for timely information flow.
- Provide general administrative support to the Paris Office team as needed.
Responsibilities – Special Activities Unit
- Support the Unit through activities across the EIB operation lifecycle: financial analysis, research, document review and internal documentation for financing transactions.
- Engage with unit management and colleagues to identify areas of potential support, reporting progress for agreed tasks.
- Lead and carry out a standalone initiative relevant to the Special Activity business (market research, pipeline development or internal optimisation) and present findings to the team at the end of the internship.
Academic Qualifications
- Final year of studies or university degree in European affairs, political science, economics, international relations, communication, finance, banking or related fields.
- Interest in EU affairs, public policy and/or sustainable finance.
- Strong drafting, synthesis, organisational and detail orientation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with SharePoint and AI tools is a plus.
- Excellent command of English and French; additional EU languages are an asset.
