EIB Trainee - Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate - Equity and Growth Capital Division
Based in Luxembourg. Duration: 5 months beginning 1 March 2026, with a possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.
Applicants must be nationals of EU Member States or from countries officially granted candidate status to join the EU (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine). Erasmus+ programmes cannot overlap the traineeship period. Limit applications to a maximum of three submissions; only the first three will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior officers with monitoring tasks, including financial analysis, support with valuations, internal and external reports, and correspondence preparation.
- Communicate with clients and maintain a monitoring database for the team’s equity‑related portfolio.
- Follow up on delivery and review of financial statements from borrowers, preparing financial analysis and related counterparty reviews, including scoring and KYC updates.
- Analyse post‑signature events, evaluate proposals for changes/decisions, review financial and legal documentation, and formulate and implement event resolutions internally.
Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or university degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Law, supplemented by relevant training in financial sector analysis.
- Basic knowledge of financial analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent numerical skills.
- Understanding of the EIB mission, activities, and the operating and political framework in which the Bank operates.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
