Position
This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.
Duration
Bespoke trainee program lasting 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2026). Extension up to 6 months may be possible if required by University.
Objective
The ultimate goal is to have a more organized, agile and easy to use update system of origination to be exploited by loan officers to reach new counterparts and develop new high‑value added operations. Additionally, the trainee will provide support allowing loan officers to focus on higher value activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the division in implementing operational tasks concerning the origination process and financial analysis.
- Under the supervision of the Head of Division or Senior Loan Officers, support the division lending activity such as updating existing origination databases and/or building new ones used to monitor and approach potential new counterparts.
- Draft client briefings, reports, presentations and contribute to external communication efforts.
- Contribute to updating counterparts' financial data and preparing financial analysis.
- Support the division in implementing other day‑to‑day tasks, including simple compliance checks.
Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or university degree in finance, business, economics or related fields.
- Good drafting, analytical (including knowledge of financial analysis) and synthesis skills required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Microsoft 365).
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of languages of the countries covered by the Division (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania) will be an asset.
