Overview
EIB Trainee - Information Systems Directorate - Cloud Enablement Unit - based in Luxembourg. This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment.
The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Information Systems Directorate (IS) - Platforms & Services Department (P&S) - Cloud Enablement Unit (CET), at its headquarters in Luxembourg.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2026). With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University. Please note that, as marked on our Webpage, only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from countries that have been officially granted candidate status to join the EU, can be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Please limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; we will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted. Deadline for application: 18 November 2025.
Objective of the traineeship: You will support the exploration and adoption of automated testing practices within a defined scope, such as a single development team or pilot project. Your work will focus on researching best practices, piloting selected tools or frameworks, and preparing documentation to facilitate future adoption.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a review of current testing practices within a selected team or project.
- Pilot one or two automated testing tools or frameworks, with guidance from your supervisor.
- Document your findings, challenges, and recommendations.
- Prepare onboarding materials or a short presentation for other teams.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Interest in software testing and automation domain in IT.
- Hands-on knowledge/skills in the software engineering development and deployment domains would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
