EIB Trainee – Information Systems Directorate – Analytics & Reporting Solutions Unit – Luxembourg

This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed), Start date: 1 March/April 2026. The traineeship may be extended up to 6 months if required by university.

Nationality: Only applicants who are nationals of EU Member States or citizens from candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) will be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the traineeship duration will not be considered. Please limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; we will only consider the first three applications submitted.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in accelerating the adoption of Power BI as a target self‑service reporting solution within the organisation, in alignment with the roll‑out of the new Data Platform (Fabric) and Citizen Development.
• Collaborate with various departments to test and validate robust practices and guidelines for managing Power BI dashboards.
• Safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Streamline dashboard development and maintenance processes.
• Clarify roles to promote disciplined data management.
• Promote sustainable and coherent dashboard and query processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with Power BI management.
• Actively contribute to refining these practices to meet the organisational needs.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or university degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, IT or equivalent.
• Understanding of the EIB’s mission and operational framework is an advantage.
• Understanding of databases and relevant platforms is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly learn new IT tools is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Azure software is a distinctive advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
