This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence; the EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment. The European Union's bank is seeking to recruit for its Chief Financial Controller Directorate (CFC) – Corporate Real Estate Department (CRE) – Real Estate Portfolio Management Unit (RPM) the position of TRAINEE.

Duration

5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2026), with possible extension up to 6 months if required by University. The traineeship programme aims to attract applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union; candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered.

Objective of the traineeship

You will support the Corporate Real Estate Department (CRE) in producing a Quality Process Map that documents CRE’s transversal activities in a clear, consistent, and structured manner. This Process Map will reinforce CRE’s quality standards, support the Target Operating Model (TOM) and Risk Management Framework, and enhance process visibility and alignment across the Department.

Measurable Goals

  • Minimum 1 interview/workshop per Process Owner completed;
  • Draft process flows (Level 2/3) produced progressively during months 2–4;
  • Process Map v0.x completed by month 4;
  • Quality‑controlled Version 1.0 approved by end of month 5;
  • Final “Quality Observations & Best Practices” note delivered before end of traineeship.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate, and minutes structured interviews/workshops with Process Owners;
  • Collect and summarize process information in a structured way;
  • Draft Level 2/3 process flows in Visio or another modelling tool;
  • Manage comments, revisions, and feedback loops to develop Version 1.0 of the Process Map;
  • Ensure consistency and quality in terminology, structure, and documentation;
  • Document key observations and best practices identified through stakeholder engagement.

General Project Support

  • Maintain documentation;
  • Meeting notes, action lists, and trackers;
  • Contribute to slide packs or summaries for internal communication;
  • Ensure all working documents are properly stored and structured in SharePoint/GED.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

  • Final year student or University Degree in Business Management, Facilities Management, Quality/Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with interest in process design and quality governance;
  • Experience with SharePoint / Knowledge Center (GED) is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Power BI is a plus;
  • Excellent command of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio;
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
