About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager / Consultant to support a data centre project in Milan, Italy. This role will initially involve reviewing contractor commissioning documentation, specifically energy isolation procedures, followed by a longer-term engagement as a CSE on a major data centre project. The position requires strong technical EHS expertise, particularly within high-risk and mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and provide detailed comments on contractor commissioning documentation, with a focus on energy isolation (LOTO) procedures
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with safety standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Act as CSE (Construction Safety Expert/Coordinator) on a large-scale data centre project
  • Oversee and support implementation of EHS policies and procedures across all project phases
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Support safe systems of work, particularly for high-risk activities such as electrical and commissioning works
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and client teams to ensure compliance and safe project delivery
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance on energy isolation and safe start-up practices within a data centre environment

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid CSP and CSE certifications mandatory
  • Proven experience in EHS management within data centre or similar mission-critical projects
  • Strong knowledge of energy isolation / LOTO procedures and commissioning safety
  • Ability to review and comment on technical documentation in Italian
  • Experience working in construction and commissioning phases of projects
  • Strong understanding of European health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


Project Details

  • Initial scope: ~3 days (document review)
  • Long-term role: ~18 months from August onwards
