The Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) System Engineer is responsible for designing and defining an optimized EDM system considering all the constraints.

This role will support DREs by providing technical assistance and expertise in resolving EDM system level issues. The System Engineer will participate in EDMs technical roadmap and develop different EDMs concepts to meet its technical specs, life, and quality requirements


Responsibilities

The System Engineer will be responsible for:

  • defining requirements for EDM system and its subcomponents- eMotor, PIM, Gearbox.
  • tracking and ensuring all EDMs’ requirements-performance and efficiency are met.
  • leading the trade-off studies working with internal teams and with suppliers for designing best EDMs.
  • leading in defining the process and in further developing tools to optimize EDM design and to evaluate EDM performance and efficiency.
  • leading in identifying and managing EDM SW features for maximizing EDM efficiency and performance.


Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2/3 years of industrial experience in any of the below domains: -
  • Designing and developing an optimized eMotor or PIM or Gearbox or EDM for different electrified propulsion architecture and applications (BEVs) considering system efficiency, performance, NVH, cost and other system constraints.
  • Power Electronics and High Voltage System Design
  • Electric Drive Module (emotors+PIM+/Gearbox) System Integration
  • eMotor/PIM controls or calibration for electric vehicles
  • Experience in developing system analysis (-efficiency/performance/thermal, NVH) tools or EDM system (emotors+PIM+/Gearbox) optimization tools and methods.
  • Experience in defining requirements for EDM or its subcomponents -eMotor, PIM or gearbox.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and with others in a team



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Equivalent Engineering from an accredited university
  • Familiarity with automotive product development processes and project management
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
