Job Summary
The eBeam technology represents a major breakthrough in packaging sterilisation, enabling high-speed production, reduced operational costs, and significant reductions in the use of chemicals, water, and energy. We are looking for talented people across multiple areas—Development, Engineering, Production, and Supplier Management to help drive the evolution of our eBeam system for today’s and tomorrow’s filling equipment.
We are hiring for the role of Purchaser who will ensure efficient, timely, and quality‑compliant tactical purchasing execution in line with agreed sourcing strategies and contracts. The role focuses on day‑to‑day procurement activities, supplier coordination, and order execution to support uninterrupted production and business operations. Monitor national and international procurement markets, manage assigned commodity groups, and develop and maintain supplier relationships in line with company objectives.
This is a permanent position based in Modena, Italy. For knowledge transfer from Flamatt site, travel to Switzerland is required at the beginning of the assignment.
What you will do
Tactical & Operational Purchasing
- Execute purchase orders for materials, components, and services in line with contracts and demand plans
- Ensure timely order placement, confirmation, and follow‑up with suppliers
- Monitor delivery dates, quantities, and deviations, initiating corrective actions when required
- Coordinate urgent or short‑term procurement needs with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Act as the day‑to‑day contact for assigned suppliers
- Clarify order details, delivery schedules, and documentation requirements
- Support resolution of delivery issues, quantity discrepancies, and basic quality claims in cooperation with Quality and Engineering
- Maintain professional and reliable supplier relationships within defined responsibilities
Systems & Data Management
- Maintain accurate purchasing master data (supplier and material data) in SAP S/4HANA
- Ensure correct pricing, lead times, and purchasing conditions in the system
- Support reporting on delivery performance, open orders, and purchasing KPIs
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Close collaboration with Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance
- Support Purchasing Experts / Strategic Buyers with data, analyses, and supplier information
- Contribute to process improvements within tactical and operational purchasing
We believe you have
Educational & Professional Experience
- A commercial or business‑oriented secondary education with relevant professional experience
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or administrative commercial roles
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is beneficial
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and supply chain flows
- Solid understanding of operational and tactical purchasing processes
Personal & Leadership Skills
- Strong team orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively across quality, engineering, production and cross‑functional groups
- Excellent communication skills, enabling clear technical translation and alignment with stakeholders, especially with suppliers
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new processes, equipment and technologies
- Highly goal‑oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment
- Well‑organized and hands‑on, demonstrating ownership and accountability in daily work and project execution
- High sense of responsibility, accuracy, and compliance
- Customer‑and solution‑oriented mindset
- English: Good written and spoken skills
- German language knowledge is considered a plus
