JOB SUMMARY

Manages housekeeping functions and staff daily to ensure guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Directs and collaborates with the team to execute all housekeeping operations effectively. Aims to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing departmental financial performance. Responsible for inspecting areas and implementing plans for improvement.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in housekeeping or related field.
  • 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field; 3 years experience in housekeeping or related field.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets

  • Ensure compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Understand the department's impact on overall financial goals and educate staff accordingly.
  • Review staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial needs.
  • Prepare work assignments based on room status and check-out lists.
  • Inventory supplies to maintain adequate stock.
  • Supervise inspections of guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Manage operations to meet or exceed budgeted financial goals.
  • Ensure employees have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Communicate areas needing attention and follow up for understanding.
  • Oversee daily shift operations and ensure policy compliance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, communicate goals clearly.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Train new staff and provide ongoing training.
  • Maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Schedule staff according to business needs and track attendance.
  • Ensure understanding of job expectations and policies.
  • Administer disciplinary procedures fairly and consistently.
  • Provide feedback and recognition to employees.
  • Gather employee feedback, review satisfaction results, and address concerns.
  • Participate in hiring processes.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Model positive guest relations.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Empower staff to deliver excellent service.
  • Focus on continuous service improvement and handle guest complaints.
