The Role
As a Director of Finance , you will be the keeper of Empatica's financial structure, ensuring sound accounting, transparent reporting, and scalable financial systems. You will lead the design and execution of best‑in‑class processes across our global footprint, shaping the backbone of a fast‑growing, international health‑tech company.
You will oversee all accounting and finance operations, ensuring compliance with multiple frameworks (US, Italian, and international GAAP) while enabling the business to scale efficiently and confidently. You will manage an international, highly skilled finance team, fostering collaboration, growth, and excellence within a dynamic, diverse environment. As a pivotal figure, you will act as a key point of reference for multiple managers and teams across departments, ensuring financial alignment and strategic support throughout the group. You will identify areas of improvement and take initiative to establish and implement change.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA is a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Big 4 auditing
- Deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles across multiple frameworks (US GAAP, Italian, international GAAP)
- Proven experience managing audits, tax filings, and international tax structures
- Solid grasp of equity compensation (company valuation, stock options)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven people management skills
- Tech‑savvy – experienced in modern financial tools and ERP systems
- Excellent written and spoken English; other languages are a plus
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams (marketing, sales, product, engineering, HR)
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with external professionals (auditors, insurers/brokers)
- Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about scaling a global, mission‑driven company

- Empatica operates internationally with presence in Europe, the US, and Korea. All work is conducted in English.
- We operate a hybrid model: employees choose to work from home or come to the office. This position is not fully remote and requires in‑person presence at the office.
