Position Overview

- Functions as the property’s strategic financial business leader.

- Champions, develops, and implements property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customers and property employees.

- Provides financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of brand service strategies and hotel initiatives while maximizing ROI.

- Creates and executes a business plan aligned with the property and brand’s strategies, focusing on financial activities and results.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting

Candidate Profile

Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role at a comparable property with sizeable rooms and meeting spaces.

Preferred qualities include:

  • Successful track record in a collaborative/matrix environment
  • Ability to evaluate and identify business opportunities

Principal Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Decision Making

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploring new opportunities.
  • Analyze information, forecast sales versus expenses, and create annual budgets.
  • Monitor actual sales against projections and analyze wage differences for efficient planning.
  • Develop, execute, and implement new business plans creatively and practically.
  • Create the annual operating budget and support budget reviews for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement controls to manage risks and safeguard assets, improving operations and profitability.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to inform decisions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the annual business plan aligned with strategic goals.
  • Monitor operational sales and produce forecasts to adapt to business changes.

Leading Finance Teams

  • Use interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and motivate teams; advocate sound decisions; demonstrate integrity.
  • Communicate strategic goals and priorities clearly.
  • Leverage leadership skills to influence executive strategies and lead teams.
  • Oversee audit processes and provide leadership through clear accountability and performance reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend meetings and communicate with owners, understanding their priorities.
  • Meet the needs of stakeholders including owners, corporate, and guests.
  • Advise senior management on operational and financial issues.
  • Communicate financial concepts effectively to influence behaviors.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital according to standards and owner requirements.

Financial Goals and Project Management

  • Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses, monitor taxes, and submit reports timely.
  • Develop performance and budget goals, review audits, and monitor purchasing processes.

Human Resources Management

  • Ensure cross-training and fair administration of policies.
  • Participate in hiring, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans for team members.
