Director – Investment Banking (French Speaker)

We are seeking a highly experienced Director – Investment Banking (French Speaker) to lead the development of our French market coverage from Italy. This is a senior, revenue-generating role combining strategic origination, client relationship management, and oversight of complex cross-border transactions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the firm’s international footprint, with a strong focus on M&A advisory, capital raising, and strategic financial advisory services for corporates and private equity clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development and origination activities across the French market.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, entrepreneurs, and private equity funds.
- Lead pitching processes and negotiate engagement mandates.
- Oversee and execute complex cross-border M&A and financing transactions (buy-side and sell-side).
- Coordinate and supervise deal teams (VPs, Associates, Analysts), ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely execution.
- Contribute to the firm’s international growth strategy and market positioning in France.
- Promote cross-selling opportunities across different business lines within the group.
- Represent the firm at industry events and strengthen brand visibility in the French ecosystem.
Requirements
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or M&A advisory.
- Proven track record of successfully closed transactions with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Direct exposure to the French market and established professional network in France.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial modeling and valuation expertise.
- Deep understanding of M&A processes (sell-side, buy-side) and capital raising transactions.
- Excellent negotiation and deal-structuring capabilities.
Languages
- Native or fluent French (mandatory).
- Fluent English.
- Italian is a plus but not required.
