Job Description
We are seeking a Cost Management Director to lead complex construction projects and serve as the day‑to‑day interface with clients to achieve excellent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide estimate and cost planning, including preparing and presenting final estimates
- Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels
- Compile feasibility studies
- Prepare procurement reports and manage pre‑qualification, tender analysis, tender report, and contractual documents
- Manage post‑contract cost variances and change control processes
- Lead cost checks, valuation deliverables, and monthly cost reporting to clients
- Lead value‑engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts
- Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants at all project stages
- Provide leadership to cost‑management teams and deliver appointed service scope
- Identify opportunities to develop new business and improve cost‑management procedures, templates, and products
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in cost management with leadership on large, high‑complexity construction projects
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters (procurement routes, value management, life‑cycle costing)
- People‑management experience delivering projects
- Strong technical experience in pre‑contract, post‑contract, and final account
- Understanding of mechanical, process, electrical, plumbing, civic, structural, and architectural systems as they relate to construction
- Experience in the Italian construction industry and knowledge of contractual documentation is advantageous
- Fluent English; Italian language skills preferred
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
- Organisational skills; ability to multi‑task and work as a team player
- Working knowledge of MS Office and modern cost‑management digital tools
