Design to cost Manager (Ref. VCP 266-267)

Global mission

Under the authority of Program Vehicle Chief Engineer, the Design to Cost Manager leads TPC and vendor tooling design to cost activities to ensure economic convergence on Top Hat perimeter from PM up to TKO of last Reskin. This activity is based on the Design to Cost process split in 3 loops as described in specific document (work in progress ).

Responsbilities

From PM -3 months -> CM

• Defines with project team (CVE, PEM, PTM ..) the technical scope of Design to cost activities
• Identifies main gaps to target (TPC/VT) for DtC perimeter
• With support of ENG and Cost engineers proposes with a bottom-up approach technical definitions consistent with unitary targets
• Challenges ENG on their referentials if needed
• Interacts with PoRo process through PoRo process manager if needed

From CM -> Supplier choices

• Contributes to RFQ target setting process (under responsability of Project Economics Manager)
• During sourcing process monitors TPC/VT convergence status on DtC perimeter and performs in close collaboration with PEM convergence actions if needed
• Ensures consistency between technical definition and TPC/VT status
• Collects from suppliers saving proposals

From supplier choices -> TKO

• Leads regular TPC/VT convergence meetings on selected commodities with ENG, suppliers, cost engineers
• Generates with suppliers TPC/VT saving potential and bring them to a decision-making process
• At SYNC3 leads a global TPC and VT evaluation with suppliers and cost engineering to secure a robust TKO
• Is accountable for achieving TPC/VT evolution targets after supplier choices

Performs lesson learned

Delivers after last TKO final TPC/VT status of DtC perimeter with best practices and lesson learned
