Design Manager (Data Center) - Italy (Milan)

A well-established engineering consulting firm is looking for a Design Manager for a Data Center project in the Milan area. This will be a 12 month project and would see you being responsible for the technical coordination of an interdisciplinary design team

Responsibilities will include:

• Management of coordination activities in a BIM environment, formulating inputs and observations
• Verification of the qualitative and quantitative technical contents of the design in relation to the project requirements in the various phases of work
• Verification of the work carried out by external consultants
• Coordination of permitting activities and specialist consultancy to obtain building permits
• Preparation of summary reports relating to the various project phases for the company management
• Management and monitoring of planning, verification, and control of the execution times
• Collaboration with field staff and / or with departmental colleagues to anticipate and resolve projects-related problems
• Collaboration with managers of various disciplines to maintain a strong team, cultivating the relationships between each specialist group

Candidate profile:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong command of English (B2/C1 level) and a good working knowledge of Italian (B1/B2 level).
• Good knowledge of single text of the legislative and regulatory provisions on construction in Italy, AutoCAD, Revit (Autodesk) and ACC work platform
• Knowledge and experience in MEP and firefighting disciplines will be considered a plus
• Proven construction management experience in Data Center will be considered a plus
• Good knowledge and experience with project management procedures
• Regular on-site presence is required; projects are located in the Milan metropolitan area
