Deputy Director of Operations

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated DEPUTY OPERATIONS DIRECTOR to oversee the day-to-day operations in our hotel of 60 rooms in Zanzibar. With over 15 years of experience in hospitality, AHG Hotel & Resort offers customized management solutions to maximize the potential of each property belonging to the brand. We enhance operational efficiency and guest experiences to exceed traveller expectations.

Essential duties and responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet guests ensuring their needs are anticipated and met with the utmost professionalism.
• Handle guest complaints and feedback, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with the hotel's standards.
• Oversee the daily operations of the hotel.
• Inspect all departments for cleanliness, ambience, service readiness, staff grooming & hospitality culture.
• Manage all employee-related activities.
• Implement processes and systems to control costs, maximize revenue, and ensure profitability.
• Oversee sustainability initiatives, ensuring the hotel meets all safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Previous experience in a similar position, preferably in tropical locations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality management software.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Italian language is a plus.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and non-verbal).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
