Depot Engineer

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Depot Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Piossasco (TO), Italy.

Accountabilities

• Identification and resolution of the interfaces of depot equipment and service vehicles with the main subsystems (e.g., Signalling, CW, Power supply, etc.)
• Ensure the review of technical documents to identify architectural depot requirements
• Ensure the supervision of installation activities of the equipment
• Maintain customer relationship as technical focal point in terms of depot and depot equipment and service vehicles requirements and the execution of the Verification activities on depot documents, according to the V&V Plan
• Participate to factory tests of the machines of suppliers, verifying compliance with design requirements and procedures.
• Contribute to the design phases related to depot layout and depot buildings, issuing documents and reviewing documents of suppliers

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of maintenance needs of a railway system with focus on the maintenance of the train.
• Knowledge of working principles of railway vehicles.
• Knowledge of machineries.
• Knowledge of principles of electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics, hydraulic schematics.
• Familiar with Autocad.
• Knowledge and experience of working at site (testing and commissioning of depot equipment).

Education / Qualifications

Technical Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.

Languages

English Proficiency.
